Xero Picks Next CFO

Sankar Narayan, Xero Xero has hired Sankar Narayan as its CFO effective in October. He will move into the position vacation when Douglas Jeffries resigned the position in February after eight weeks on the job. Narayan joins the low-cost cloud accounting software manufactuer after serving as CFO of Virgin Australia for four years.

Since Jeffries' departure COO, Ross Jenkins has served as acting COO. Jenkins will resume his normal duties once Narayan is in position. The company had hired Jeffries, based in San Francisco, to boost its American leadership.

Xero North America has had some key departures, including Peter Karpas, who resigned as CEO of that organization in September after six months on the job. More recently, Ian Vacin, VP of marketing and product in the United States since April 2012, resigned to join Balanced Labs, a start up that plans to market cloud-based tax software and other applications for accounting firms.
