Jackson Hewitt Picks Marketing Chief

Vada Hill, Jackson Hewitt Vada Hill, who has held top marketing jobs at Fannie Mae and Taco Bell, has been named chief marketing officer by Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. It is the latest in a series of executive changes at the Parsippany, N.J.-based tax preparation chain in 2014 that included the appointment of a new CEO.

Hill steps into the position left open by D. Michael Williams, who held the job from July 2012 through March 2104. Williams' LinkedIn page does not show any current positions. The company nameds David Prokupek as CEO, also in March. Dan O'Brien, who served as CFO from January 2008, left in January and chief information officer Robert Summers departed in May.

Hill was most recently partner for marketing strategy at Kelton, an international marketing firm from June 2009 through 2014. He was CMO at Fannie Mae from September 1999 through January 2006 and had the same title at Taco Bell from August 1996 though September 1999.

As CMO, Hill is responsible for the company's brand marketing functions including advertising, public relations, creative development, promotions and digital marketing activities.

In the announcement of its hiring, Jackson Hewitt cited Hill's accomplishments at Taco Bell, including what it says was the development and nurturing of the "Chihuahua" advertising campaign which was accompanied by new menu items such as Gorditas and Chalupas.
