Spidell Publishing which markets educational services for the California tax market, has been acquired by CertiFi, a Leeds Equity Partners portfolio company. Terms were not disclosed.Spidell offers CPE courses for CPAs, EAs, CRTPs, and attorneys. It offers tax updates and also self-study in tax, accounting and auditing, and ethics.
CetifiFi owns Dalton Education, which provides courses leading to the Certified Financial Planner credential; Money Education, which publishes text books about tax and financial planning and PassPort, which offers securities exam preparation. Other units offer training about financial crime and insurance pre-licensing education
