Iris Buys AccountantsWorld

The Iris Software Group has acquired AccountantsWorld, a pioneering cloud software company in the practice management space. It the latest in a series of deals through which Iris has snapped up practice and document management companies, along with payroll and HR Vendors.

Terms were not disclosed.

Iris, based in London, the United Kingdom, purchased two document management vendors, Doc.it and Conarc, this year and also acquired a British practice management package, Senta. In 2019, it bought Practice Engine and Star Practice Management.

In announcing the deal, Elona Mortimer-Zhika, Iris’ CEO said, “We are excited to welcome AccountantsWorld into the IRIS family as we continue to expand our North American presence to empower accounting firms to manage and grow their practices more efficiently and become better advisors to their clients.

AccountantsWorld was founded in 2003 by Chandra and Sharada Bhansali, but started in 1999 as an online community for accountants. That company was preceded by MicroVision, founded in 1986. The Bhansalis changed corporations in 2003 with the sale of the MicroVision Tax Relieif tsoftware to the former Creative Solutions.

Among other products owned by Iris are Innervision, which makes lease accounting software, FMP Global, which offers payroll and HR Services.
