Thomson Changing Leadership

Thomson Reuters is moving to new leadership with a new CEO and CFO. The company is replacing both CEO James Smith and CFO Stephane Bellow who have been in their positions since 2012.

Steve Hasker is stepping into the CEO position and Mike Eastwood is succeeding Stephane Bello, both effective March 15.  Smith, who has been with the company for almost 33 years, joined as  COO of the Thomson Newspaper Group in 1987. He will become chairman of the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Bello will become the company’s vice chairman. He started at the company in 2001 as treasurer and served as CFO of the Professional division for four years. Hasker, who had a five-year tenure with PWC, was CEO of Creative Artists’ Agency from January 2018 through July 2019. He was with Nielsen from November 2009 through December 2017 where he was global president and COO. Eastwood, currently head of corporate finance, started at Thomson in September 1998 as VP of business planning and strategic analysis
