ADP Compensation Changes Hefty

Automatic Data Processing handed out significant increases to three current and one former executive for the year ended June 30. CEO Carlos Rodriguez’s income topped $19 million, an increase of 52.1 percent from $12.5 million for the prior fiscal year.

The biggest increase came in the category of change in pension value and non-qualified deferred compensation earnings. Rodriguez’s compensation there totaled $3.7 million, up sharply from $185,313. His stock award of $6.8 million for fiscal 2019 was 26.6 percent higher than the $5.3 million the prior year.

CFO Kathleen A. Winters received $6.4 million in fiscal 2019, up 50.5 percent from $4.2 million the prior year. She replaced former CFO Jan Sigmund, who had $6.3 million in pay, an increase of 50.3 percent from $4.2 million. Sigmond held the position from 2012 and had worked at ADP since 1999 and said last year he would retire after a replacement was named. Winters took over the position on April 15.

General counsel and secretary, Michael A. Bonarti received $4.4 million last year, which represented a rise of $49.6 million from slightly less than $3 million.

There were two newcomers to the named executive list. These were Thomas J. Pierrotti. president worldwide sales and marketing, with $3.8 million in compensation, and Maria Black, president of small business solutions and human resources outsourcing, with income of $3.7 million last ye
