Abila Presents User Awards

abilaThe California Society of CPAs was among nine organizations recently recognized for their implementation and use of Abila software. The Abila Excellence Award was presented to those organizations at the Austin, Texas-based company's Abila User and Developer Conference.

Abila cited CalCPA for transforming its CPE program from live, in-person events to "engaged online learning on a massive scale with 2,200 annual education events, encompassing 400 course titles, and educating 50,000 to 75,000 learners each year."

Among other award winners were the National Society for Professional Engineers, which created an automated billing tool; the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, for developing an Experience Profile tool that enables CFP candidates to continuously update their experience profile for board review and approval; the Child Care Resource Center for utilizing technology to support growth as the center doubled its budget, funding sources and number of childcare providers.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Angelo received an award "for using technology to increase financial transparency, save staff time, reduce paper use, and shift the finance department's thinking toward true fund accounting". The San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium was honored for helping community-based, nonprofit health clinics care for low-income and uninsured, San Franciscans through use of its fund accounting system.

Abila also honored the American Industrial Hygiene Association for "providing innovative programming and delivering an industry-leading learning experience to its virtual conference audiences."

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association won its award for developing a custom internal-facing tool that allows finance department staff to apply different pricing structures for its magazine subscribers with the click of a button, saving 25 percent of a full-time finance staff resource.

And the Emergency Nurses Association was cited for increasing its  continuing nursing education course offerings by 33 percent, increasing revenue by 16 percent, and increasing registrations from 3,000 to 5,000 students.
