Whitehouse Drops Yupana CMO Job

Geni Whitehouse

Geni Whitehouse, a well-known consultant and speaker on CPA technology, has exited her job as chief marketing officer of start-up Yupana. Whitehouse, who remains as an advisor, said a new company direction was behind the change.
Yupana was founded to provide a variety of accounting firm applications online. These include fixed asset management, document management and trial balance and analytical tools such as key performance indicators and dashboards.

In a blog on the Yupana site, Whitehouse explained her decision. She said the company initially planned to develop a custom enterprise offering for large firms and a standard application for others

"It has become clear that one of the two paths offers the most viable business solution in the short term. For this reason, we will be changing our focus to large firm custom enterprise development and will be postponing our development of applications for CPAs," Whitehouse wrote. She hopes that the company can return to creating applications for smaller firms.
