Thomson Buys BizActions
The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters has acquired BizActions, which offers digital newsletter and Web marketing services for accounting firms in North America. Terms were not disclosed.That deal follows Thomson's purchase last month of Emochila, which markets website services.
BizActions had been led by CEO Barry Friedman since September 2000. The Thomson Reuters website shows co-founder Gary Kravitz as director of the unit. Kravitz had served as EVP of Bizactions. BizActions offers customizable electronic newsletters, client relationship building services, Web-based marketing, and search engine optimization. Its flagship product is a web-based electronic newsletter system. A subscription includes original content to distribute up to 52 e-mail newsletters a year, a dedicated customer support representative, and detailed reports on marketing effectiveness.
