CPA Fleeced Investors

Gavel swingingA Bakersfield, Calif., CPA, Jeffrey Todd Stewart, has admitted stealing $355,000 from investors. Stewart faces up to 20 years in prison for his guilty plea to a charge of wire fraud.

Between September 2104 and June 2018, Stewart, age 57, received more than $2 million from investors to pay fees and expenses for a purported overseas business deal. While most of the money was used for the deal, he spent $355,000 of investor’s money for personal expenses such as mortgage payments, trips to Las Vegas, and gambling.
