Intuit, Nokia Plan Small Biz Marketing Service

Intuit logoIntuit is continuing its march on the small business market through alliances with other major vendors this week with the announcement that it and Nokia are developing a mobile and web-based marketing service for small businesses. That follows a late August agreement with Verizon Communications to market website services and marketing tools.

Aimed at small businesses worldwide, the first launch of the marketing service is expected in the fourth quarter. The companies say that the marketing service will enable them to provide personalized, relevant offers and marketing messages. However, the announcement offered no details about how the service will operate, specific features or pricing. Nokia claims to be the worldwide leader as a mobile device manufacturer and would presumably utilize its resources there.

Details of services offered via the Verizon alliance have been announced. Verizon is basing its Web builder program on the Intuit product and has three plans, ranging from a starter program through a Gold Plan, which offer storage, websites and data transfer options.

Verizon is marketing the small business website program under its name. The Nokia announcement did not indicated how the marketing services would be branded.
