Zoho is ramping up the storage available to its online small business customers. The cloud software company has also introduced a program to build web and mobile applications for free for nonprofits, along with offering use of other apps for free.

Those are elements a what Zoho termed a “Vertical Relief Plan” to aid businesses in different markets it serves.

Via the  Zoho Creator COVID-19 App Program, the company will create tools to help non-profits or community groups organize shelters or distribute food or other essential services. Zoho said it has received more than 70 requests for such apps and has delivered more than 10, including the Citizen Communication App and Medical Staff Management App for local government bodies in India.

Also available for free to government agencies and departments working on COVID-19 relief are licenses for Zoho Desk, which provides tools to manage work and communications. Similarly, the advanced edition of Zoho Social is free for six months. The company is additionally honoring extension requests from users as well as providing educational guidance and tool improvements to aid users working remotely. Nonprofits working to provide pandemic relief can utilize Zoho Checkout for free to enable them to collect online donations.

A new mobile application, Zoho Classes, enables educational and training institutes to serve their students online. Classes integrates video content delivery, classroom communication apps, assignment management tools, along with video-lesson and project-creation applications. Users can upload courses, broadcast live classes, share assignments under set deadlines, and collect responses. Students can only join a group after an invitation is sent directly from their school.

Zoho Classes is free for government schools in Indiana and outside of India, it is free for up to 100 students per organization.Complementary to Classes, Zoho ShowTime provides more individualized and interactive learning environments including classroom breakouts or professional training. One-click access to ShowTime within Zoho Classes will be available soon. Meanwhile, all of ShowTime’s premium features are being offered to those from the Basic plan onward at no additional costs.
