CFOs Predict Workplace Changes

More than two thirds of CFOs responding to a PCW COVID-19 Pulse Survey expect changes to workplace safety measure and requirements. That was the opinion of 77 percent of 305 finance leaders participating in a recent survey.

Sixty-five percent expect to reconfigure worksites to promote physical distancing. In the only other choice made by more than half of respondents, changing shifts and/or alternating crews to reduce exposure was expected by 52 percent of the CFOs

Twenty-two percent say they will evaluate new tools to support workforce location tracking and contact tracing while 10 percent say that will provide hazard pay for on-site workers in affected areas. Finally, 9 percent expect to offer targeted benefits for on-site workers in affected areas.

PWC said the level of concern about the crisis’ impact is high, but stabilizing. Two weeks ago, 74 percent of respondents said COVID-19 has the potential for “significant impact” to their business operations while that number was 72 percent in the latest survey.
