PayCycle was created in 1999 to offer web-based payroll to retail and wholesale customers, and currently provides interfaces to most entry level accounting packages, including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks for Mac, Quicken, Microsoft Money, and Peachtree by Sage.   Paycheck and tax payment data can also be exported to client write up packages like ATX Client Write-Up™, TaxWise Client Write-Up™, and CCH ProSystem fx® Write-Up.

The company focuses its service offerings on small employers.  Employers can print their checks, deposit advices, and payroll tax returns from PayCycle's website.  Accountants can offer PayCycle's popular wholesale product to their clients through the accountant’s firm branded version of the PayCycle product at the generic website, managepayroll.com

Until recently, the company limited its service to companies with 50 or fewer employees, but this cap on total employees was recently increased to 150, which allows PayCycle to serve much larger customers.  Employees have access to their most recent paystubs on an employee portal.
Key Features:
• Like its competitors, PayCycle's offering will meet the basic needs of many small companies, but its lack of human resources support and mean that it may not meet the need of larger organizations with more sophisticated reporting and compliance needs.  Accordingly, the service does not support job cost, and agricultural employees • Support is available 7 days a week through telephone, chat, and e-mail, and is unlimited.
• Offer service which identifies taxes to which an employee is subject based on their address.
• Support three levels of access for users:
• Payroll processing only
• Setup employees and process payroll
• Administrator access (Setup, pay, and file taxes)
