The Securities and Exchange Commission will conduct a roundtable at its headquarters in Washington D.C. to discuss the benefits and challenges of incorporating International Financial Reporting Standards into the financial reporting system for issuers in the United States. The IFRS event is scheduled for July 7 at the facility at 100 F. Street N.E. Panel discussions will feature topics such as investor understanding of IFRS and the impact on smaller public companies and on the regulatory environment of incorporating IFRS.The event will be open on on a first-come, first-served basis for seating and will be webcast via the SEC website. The SEC staff is soliciting suggestions regarding topics. Submissions may be made on paper or electronically. | |||
