| Preparer Gets Three Years for Fraud |

Washington D.C.-based tax prepared has been sentenced to three years in prison for willfully aiding and assisting in the preparation of a false income tax return for 2004. Onuoha "Iggy" Nwokoro was also ordered to pay $510,389 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service. From January 2005 through April 2007, Nwokoro operated BBC Tax Services, also known as BBC Tax and Medical Billing Service. On August 30 this year, he pleaded guilty to the charge. He was accused of preparing and electronically filing tax returns for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 that included fictitious business income and expenses for what purported to be a computer systems business. He admitted preparing at least 41 false returns. Nwokoro also under-reported his income $585,537 for 2004, 2005 and 2006.
