Intuit Accountant Program Goes Global E-mail

Rich Walker, IntuitIntuit is taking its accountant program global to serve professionals in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Canada. Rich Walker, who has handled public relations for the American accounting program, has been named to the new position of director of accountant strategy and programs with the Intuit Global Business Division.

Walker, who will be based in San Francisco, said, the role of his new position is "to manage existing efforts and create new programs to engage accounting professionals with Intuit on a worldwide basis."

Intuit derives the overwhelming among of its revenue from the United States. In the last three years, it has expanded operations to India with the introduction of a personal banking application. It has been moving its QuickBooks accounting package into other English-speaking countries and has been testing QuickBooks Online as it formulates a retail program in the U.K. The company has also discussed the possibility of moving into the Chinese market via mobile applications.
