CaseWare Time 2009 uses SQL database tables with users able to select from a variety of Microsoft databases to create tables. The new version also features CaseWare Time Websheet which can access the time file, enabling staff to input, view and edit their time-and-expense entries via the Internet.

Time-and-expense screens also come with a new option to view, enter and approve transactions over a range of dates, instead of one day at a time. This version offers sorting via Created First, Second and Third sort orders so that documents can be sorted on most columns in reports. An improved equation editor can build SQL expressions to filter documents by any table and field while two options have been added for trial balance reports. These included clients with activity or no activity where totals balance to zero, or include clients with activity where totals balance to zero.
