SmartVault has released a year-end service update that provides email notification via which users can set up the system to automatically receive email notifications when documents are uploaded or downloaded, as well as specify how frequently they want to receive notifications. Also available is full-text search that enables users to search for uploaded files using keywords contained in a Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF document.

Interactive Decision Tools have been added to Thomson Reuters Checkpoint platform. The tools utilize an interview format that guides subscribers through the decision-making process and relevant considerations to reach a conclusion. There are also embedded calculations and editorial guidance to help users answer questions with the interviews.

Tax professionals who use ATX or TaxWise tax software can provide clients with automatic notifications about the status of their tax returns and refunds via e-mail or text messages. The capability is provided through the cooperation of CCH Small Firm Services, which makes the software, and Versicom Communication. The new service is called Toll-Free Tax Infoline Plus and provides the alert capability while also giving clients access to a website and a toll-free number in order to check return and refund status.

Intuit is providing payroll services through Bank of America. Called Intuit Full Service Payroll, the program provides online payroll preparation, payroll error checking and tax filing to small businesses. The offering joins Easy Online payroll, a self-service program offered by Intuit through the bank. Bank of America is the only bank participating in the program.
