RTRP Requirements

I support the regulation of tax preparers but feel that in the case of California it is overkill. California tax preparers must maintain a surety bond as well as complete requisite hours in continuing education each year. If the RTRP injunction is overurturned we will be required to not only meet the standards set forth by the California Tax Education Council but the IRS as well. If California waived its requirement and acted in conformity with the IRS regulations I would be in complete support of this legislation. As it stands, it is nothing more than an additional expense.
