RTRP Testing and CPE

I have been in the accounting/Tax profession since 1994. I feel that no we shouldn't have to take the test to be registered but I do feel that regulating CPE credits should be part of the PTIN program. CPA, EA and Attorneys must have constant CPE credits to maintain there title/license so should we to maintain our PTIN. I know that there are alot of attorneys and CPA who have no knowledge in taxation. If they do appeal they need to make everyone, I mean everyone test. The IRS would be shocked as to how many tax preparers know more than the attorneys and CPA's. CPE is good for everyone in this profession. It really is needed maybe then there wouldn't be so many fly by night preparers.
