Nonregulation of Tax Return Preparers.

I think it unfortunate that we will be continuing to deal with attempting to rescue taxpayers from the impact of the errors and omissions of unskilled preparers who generally can not even be found by the time the IRS contacts those taxpayers. There is also a lot of confusion out there regarding fees paid and tests scheduled by IRS approved training services who (at the moment) are taking the position that the test is still scheduled and no refunds will be made. This fiasco does nothing to enhance the reputations of those of us who have for many years been providing professional services.
