Is there any news about what happens to folks like me who just passed the IRS exam? At the least, I'd like the credential of being a registered tax preparer, and I've seen some job postings that require that, at least. I spent substantial time and money preparing for, then passing the exam ($500 in course fees, $116 for the test to start). If the IRS is wrong, will there be any compensation for folks who spent the time/money in vain? No wonder businesses won't hire in the United States - you don't know from one minute to the next what the regulations are going to be! Yet this is the non-functional government America voted for! Sad. You'd think the IRS would have enough lawyers to know what regulations it has legal authority to impose. -Dennis
