I have been a user of TaxWorks for many years, and have endured the pains of their software progression for years. The 2009 software (2010 filling season) was a disaster, but they got it right with the 2010 and 2011 editions.
However, the 2012 edition is a worthless joke. The organizers do not work. The conversion of previous W-2 company information settings, libraries, providers, etc do NOT convert. The program will NOT update on the server at all.....and I could go on.
Their tech support is overwhelmed with dis-satisfiled, frustrated users. I was on hold for over 5 hours between Thursday and Friday (1/3-1/4/2013) and was never able to speak to anyone. The same thing on Monday 1/7.
After speaking with the eastern region sales rep, he couldn't provide any good news at all. We emailed TaxWorks, but no reply.
So, I just switched to Drake. I'm in the process of getting data converted and set up on my server.
Its unfortunate, but the TaxWorks software simply does not work at this time, and I'm not sure it will work correctly this entire season.
