There may be a few folks who still believe that tablets come from the pharmacy. They are not paying attention. As accountants pay attention a lot - here is some data to use as part of your review of the tablet world. On March 9, 2009, AAPL was $83/share. On March 9, 2011, AAPL is $352/share. Whether you are an Apple fan, Apple hater or just do not care, Apple products continue to make a significant impact on how people use computing and technology. The introduction of the iPad 2 Tablet was covered by every category of news service, blogger, even Steven Colbert. All accountants need to consider why or why not the Tablet has a place in their technology world.

Mobile: A World with No Off Switch

The work day of my CPA father had a start time, a stop time and a lunch hour (except during tax season). He commuted from the suburbs to the city. While traveling, he read a newspaper, read a book, did some office work or slept. Sure, there were occasional phone calls at night. However, the office was the nucleus of all work including the delivery of paper everything - tax returns, 14 column audit worksheets, correspondence and hand written notes. My father died in 2000 without ever placing his fingers on a computer or cell phone. Today, the office location is wherever we are.

The State of the Spam Address: Still Serious
Just so nobody misses the point - there's no evidence that the incidence of spam and malware being generated is improving. "What we have seen is a significant uptick in the area of malware related to the expanded use of social networking sites. Although we are isolating the malware, it blows my mind how significant it has become," says Jim Bourke, principal with Red Bank, N.J.-based WithumSmith+Brown.
Not Enough Backup? But Many Tools
Usually editors don't get so directly involved in a story. But as a cautionary tale about backing up data, it's difficult to avoid what happened with one home computer with a problem and the Dell attempts to solve it that ended up erasing every data file on the hard drive.

It is nearing the end of 2010 and you are already using various wire free products- cell phones, smart phones, laptops, tablets, etc - along with the wireless connecting services in almost every retail, wholesale, commercial, charitable and governmental location.
