A former Queens, N.Y., tax preparer has pleaded guilty to using a variety of bogus deductions to inflate client tax returns. Thompson is scheduled to be sentenced on June 2. She faces a maximum sentence of three years, supervised release, restitution and monetary penalties. She also agreed to being prohibited from preparing federal tax returns for others.
