Detroit Preparer Shut Down

Dieasha Davis, Tax Pioneer Co. A tax preparer who worked at a Liberty Tax Service store and later at her own company has been barred from the taxreturn business. A Federal Court has issued the order against Dieasha Davis and her Detroit, Mich.-area business, the Tax Pioneer Co.

She was accused of telling at least one client, who was being audited, to submit false documents to the Internal Revenue Service.

Davis was a former manager and preparer for a Liberty franchisee before moving to Tax Pioneer in 2013. The IRS said Davis used bogus income and expenses or inflated them, claimed non-existent dependents and utilized improper filing statuses and fake itemized deductions.

A brief history of Davis and Tax Pioneer on Yelp says she was operations manager for five Liberty Tax stores in the Detroit area for six seasons before founding Tax Pioneer in 2012, along with her husband, who was identified as G. Felton. He was not mentioned in the court action.
