Intuit Renames CPA Select

Brian Crofts, IntuitIntuit has renamed its CPA Select program, in which it matches consumers with CPAs. Now called the TurboTax Personal Pro service, the initiative connects consumers who need advice with screen Referred CPAs, who will prepare the requester's taxes. Intuit also has a new Refund Transfer program in which it will pay preparers who initiate RTs.

Intuit originated the CPA Select program under the theory that those who do their own tax returns often have life-changing events, such as marriages or purchase of a residence, that lead them to seek professional assistance. The company gives purchasers the opportunity to find a professional from within the TurboTax program. The retooled program is being discussed later this month at QuickBooks Connect, the company's first major conference.

The Santa Barbara Products Tax Group and Refund Advantage have previously provided Refund Transfers to Intuit customers. However, the company has now brought American Express on board for the program. Changes will be discussed at a session at the conference led by Brian Crofts, business leader for the program and Kevin Reinard, a product specialist. Conference materials say Intuit will now "pay preparers to do RTs".
