NSA Gets IRS CPE Nod

irs continuing edThe National Society of Accountants has been approved as a continuing education provider by the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS sanction means that NSA can offer courses to professionals who are requried to complete 15 credit hours of CPE under the Registered Tax Return Preparer program.The approval also applies to courses for Enrolled Agents who must earn 72 credit hours every three years.

There are three categories of IRS Approved Courses:  Federal Tax, Ethics, and RTRP Test Preparation. The IRS has approved more than 20 NSA courses in online, group and self-study formats. Each course qualifies for two credit hours.

 

Approved courses include Avoiding Ethical Violations,  IRS Collection Division Representation, Penalty Games: Reducing IRS Penalties, 2012 Representation Update,  Money Laundering and Foreign Bank Accounts. How to be More Appealing to the IRS: Appeals Representation, Employment Tax Issue: Employee vs. Independent Contractor, Cancellation of Debt: Foreclosures, Advanced Examination Techniques and the Practitioners Role in Protecting Practitioners' Rights and Audit Reconsideration. There is a five-part exam review webinar series that offers up to 10 credit hours.
