Intuit Changes Research Search Engines

intuit_logoIntuit has changed search engines for its tax research products. The company has adopted Google for search within the tax research platform, a switch that was made very recently for Tax Research for both Lacerte and ProSeries users. Intuit's content is provided by BNA.

"With the new Google search engine, users will experience greater confidence with more reliable results that are returned more quickly," a spokesperson said. Tests show that it produces matches for search queries 10 times fast than with the previous engine. She noted that Google also adds additional filter layers to a search and users can search within search results. It is also now easier for users to collapse a search and print or attach results to a tax return.

Intuit's research product was formerly known as Intuit ProLine Research. However, as Intuit has abandoned trying to make ProLine a brand that encompasses its lines the research offering has been renamed Lacerte Tax Research and ProSeries Tax Research.
