IRS Names Advisory Committee Members

Mark SteberThe Internal Revenue Service has named five new members to the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee, including representatives from the nation's two largest tax preparation chains. And one of them, Mark Steber of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, has been elected as ETAAC chairman for 2011-2012 by committee members.

ETAAC provides an organized forum for discussion of electronic tax administration issues.

 

Steber, a CPA, is the chief tax officer for Jackson-Hewitt and is responsible for the overall tax service delivery compliance.

Also joining the committee was Yasmine (Mimi) Nolan of Kansas City, Mo. Nolan is the director of tax forms Management for H&R Block. Her team monitors and analyzes changes to the federal and state income tax forms.

Other new members include Timothy Blevins of Mayetta, Kan., a consultant with CGI's Tax, Revenue, and Collections Center of Excellence. He is responsible for providing expertise to clients to enhance tax operations. Cyrus Daftary of Newton, Mass., a partner with Burt, Staples & Maner, is responsible for consulting with multi-national corporations and financial institutions on their compliance in the IRS tax withholding and information return reporting rules.

Timur Taluy of Oxnard, Calif., the CEO of FileYourTaxes.com, manages the development and enforcement of internal policies and controls regarding safeguarding and development of tax return data processing systems.
