A templated security plan has been made available to tax professionals by the Internal Revenue Service and its Security Summit partners. The publication is designed to make data security planning easier.The Written Information Security PlanPDF is a 28-page, document developed by and for tax and industry professionals. Summit members will highlight the template at each of five IRS Nationwide Tax Forums to be held this summer.
Available on IRS.gov and in Publication 5708PDF the WISP walks users through getting started with a plan, including understanding security compliance requirements and professional responsibilities. and continues with an outline for a basic WISP and a sample template.
