Thomson’s Sales Tax Leader Departs

Jim Mirabile, who led Thomson Reuters sales tax business for four years, has left the companyMirabile, who departed in January, was global head of sales, tax information reporting solutions. 

Via a LinkedIn, Mirabile said, “I had a great experience there and wish them all the best, but sometimes it’s just time to move on.”  

Thomson’s sales tax business is built on its Onesource software and service  offerings. The software packages include Determination for calculating and recording sales, use, and excise tax, VAT, and GST; Indirect Compliance, which manages compliances for those tax in a central environment; and Certificate Manager, which integrates with the two previously managed applications to track, validate and govern exemption certificates. It also provides subscriptions to Indirect Tax Rates, which connects with a variety of databases. 

Mirabile was with Wolters Kluwers’ CCH operations from January 1990 through April 2013. He was VP of sales from January 2011 through April 2013.

Thomson has undergone dramatic changes as its spinoff of its Financial and Business as Refintiv has left the organization half the original size in terms of revenue. In December, the company said it would cut 3,200 jobs, 12 percent to fits workforce, and close 55 offices by 2020. Mirabile’s LinkedIn profile said during the first two years, the Onesource Tax Information Reporting Business Unit grew to more than $50 million in revenue.
