Socius Buys the Dynamics Biz of CBiz

Socius logoInterDyn Socius, a Microsoft and Sage reseller based in Ohio, has acquired the Dynamics practice of CBiz Technologies, extending Socius' operations to Tennessee, Kansas and northern California. The purchase follows CBiz recent disclosure it was selling three companies as it exited the technology business

The sale was announced by Socius. CBiz, which has not issued a statement, had said during a Webcast involving its 2009 results that it was leaving the technology market because it lacked the scale to produce results that met its profitability goals. Terms of the sale were not announced other than the fact that an undisclosed number of CBiz staff members would join Socius, which would take over the Dynamics clients formerly served by CBiz

CBiz had been honored often by Microsoft. According to Socius, CBiz Technologies had been named to the Dynamics Inner Circle 10 times and the Dynamics President's Club 13 times annually since 1992. Socius itself has won the top Microsoft awards and has been notable as the only reseller in the country to be named both to the Microsoft Inner Circle and to the Sage President's Circle and has accomplished that for three consecutive years.

There is no indication of the size of the Dynamics operations under CBiz. Its technology business was comprised by three companies. Besides CBiz Technologies, it also had CBiz Network Solutions and a smaller operation whose services included VoIP. The three together had almost $14 million in annual revenue. For 2009, Socius had about $25 million in revenue.
