Intacct Debuts in Australia

Sage Intacct has been introduced into the Australian market. It is the first step in Sage’s plan to take the cloud financial product global with entry into the United Kingdom planned by the end this year, according to a product manager.

“We have a major theme of going global,” Sandi MainIntacct’s director of product marketing said recently. “There are additional countries being evaluated.”

Sage continues to signal the importance of Intacct to its plans. Two members of the Intacct executive team are on the Sage Group’s executive committee.  Sage Intacct recently expanded its San Jose, Calif., offices from five floors to six floors, bringing the headquarters total to 118,000 sq.vft. Sage began its marketing campaign with eight resellers in Australia with the company looking for more.

The move was announced as Sage Intacct Release 3 was introduced. In this edition, compliance with ASC 606 is an important factor with onboard performance obligations to satisfy ASC 606 retrospective reporting, along with the ability to manage billable project expenses to meet the standard, included in the release.

The company also bulked up on bank feeds with Intacct supporting connection with more than 10,000 financial institutions, in support of the global expansion. The new scale has a meant introducing “a lot core accounting capabilities, and we extended feeds and payment capabilities,” according to Main.

The cloud software also “more reporting capabilities, performance and scale.” The Intacct budget wizard was also enhanced to reduce the number of clicks needed by users. That system will automatically populate new budgets with budget or actuals.

Users can also drag and drop to structure new budgets by dimensions. Drag and drop can also be used to set up budget structures by dimension first.
