AICPA, Firms Work on Audit Tool

Image by KG Shreyas ThimmaiahThe American Institute of CPAs and several large accounting firms are working to create an audit software package and methodology. The parties said recently they are working with CaseWare International to develop the technology platform.

Resources and funds are being provided by the parties, including CPA.com, the AICPA’s technology arm. About $50 million has been invested in building what is termed a Dynamic Audit Solution Methodology. CaseWare has also invested “tens of millions of dollars” to build out its cloud platform.
