Jim McGinnis, Intuit Intuit has opened its Firms of the Future Contest to accounting and bookkeeping firms from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Four global finalists will receive $5,000 each with the global winner receiving $10,000 when the winner is revealed at the software company's QuickBooks Connect conference on October 24 in San Jose, Calif.

Finalists, who receive two tickets each to attend the conference, will be announced in August. Intuit will provide a videographer and producer for making a video demonstrating what qualifies their firms as a Firm of the Future. Winners will be selected by public voting on each country's contest site from October 3 through 15.

Up to 15 runners-up will receive $2,500 each.

Applicants will be judged by Jim McGinnis, VP of the Intuit Accountant Segment, and others from the company's Small Business Group and Accounting Segment.
