Reckon to Grow SmartVault

SmartVaultSmartVault, which markets online document management systems, will expand into the United Kingdom and Australia under its new owner, Reckon. The Australian vendor outlined its plans for SmartVault, which it purchased in January, with the recent release of financial results for the year ended December 31.

In an investor presentation accompanying the financial results, Reckon says it intends to use SmartVault to access the accountant market in the United States and reported that SmartVault added 12,000 seats last year, an increase of 48 percent over 2014.

Once Intuit's QuickBooks distributor in Australia, Reckon now markets its online Reckon One accounting package in Australia and New Zealand. It had planned to introduce Reckon One in the U.K. in 2015, but now says that will take place this year.
