Patrick Falle, Avalara Sales-and-use-tax software vendor Avalara is reorganizing its channel in response to what it says has been rapid growth. The Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based company has s named Patrick Falle, a founding investor, as North American Channel Chief. Falle takes over from Pascal Van Dooren, who had been handling all channel duties but now is responsible for overseeing global channel efforts.

Avalara is recruiting more reselling, development and accounting partners in North American and internationally. Van Dooren is working on international channel expansion, particularly in Europe. Falle, who reports to Van Dooren, previously led the company's sales efforts in the United States. Avalara said the move comes as it makes acquisitions in vertical areas such as Excise Tax and Retail.

In its prepared statement, the company said it "is undertaking channel reorganization efforts that will promote synergies among channel partners and deliver greater value to the channel as a whole."

Brian Austin, director of channel relations said the move follows "massive hiring in the past six months on the East and West Coasts". He said resellers are "wanting to engage with us to get assistance with marketing to their prospects and customers, and offer solutions that make them more relevant to customers and differentiate themselves with prospects."
