Thomson: Mobile App Users to Triple in 2012

Scott Fleszar, Thomson Reuters The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters predicts that the number of users of Mobile CS will triple this year. The company reports that there are more than 1,000 active user accounts. With the product's growth rate at about 15 percent a month, Thomson says the user base should reach 3,000 active accounts in 2012.

Mobile CS provides access to Practice CS, the company's practice management software. Scott Fleszar, VP of strategic marketing, attributes the rapid growth to the introduction of an Android version late in 2011. He also credits features introduced last year including in-the-field receipt submission, real-time mileage tracking and mobile time entry.

The mobile application can access client data, staff availability, project status, and key firm data such as WIP and accounts receivable from Practice CS. Thomson plans to expand Mobile CS to operate with other modules in the CS Profession Suite. A free, functional trial version of Mobile CS is available in the Apple App Store and the Android Market.
