We've now had a couple of months to catch our breaths after the end of busy (busier?) season and suddenly summer is upon us. A great time for friends, family, and relaxing --- and also a great time to rethink internal firm operations. I've logged nearly 60,000 miles so far this year speaking to and with practicing accountants all over the country. I've noted an almost uncanny, profession-wide, single minded interest in SaaS - Software as a Service. My good friend, Rich Oppenheim has provided a wonderful feature article covering this very important topic. SaaS will change the very foundations of technology for practicing accountants and proper vetting of vendors is now more important than ever. I strongly encourage you to read "Protecting Client Data and Maintaining Compliance in an Emerging SaaS World- Eight Critical Questions to Consider with SaaS Vendors". It is an excellent treatise and will arm you well as you enter the new world of SaaS.
And, even though we're moving toward a SaaS world, we still live in a LAN and ASP one, and as such we still work with small business accounting. CPA and veteran software executive Geni Whitehouse weighs in with a most excellent review of the most popular products. As usual, her review is insightful and well as humorous. Finally, Kathy Yakal has added a couple of interesting posts --- Drive eRazer and Virtual PBX. Good stuff, and things you just might want to know.

Oh, and yes, I am keeping my new Palm Pre --- and I have advice for you so regarding. Check it out. Our next eNewsletter will be July 15th --- but, as usual, we will be adding stories daily. Please stop by and check us out. Or even better, click that little orange button and subscribe free, via RSS!

Thanks.
