Welcome to another edition of what is quickly becoming America’s most widely read eNewsletter and website. I’ve been traveling a lot since our last issue and met many of you while speaking in Los Angeles and Atlantic City last week. It’s wonderful to get to connect in person.

This issue is once again crammed with interesting, high-value articles produced by practicing tax and accounting professionals specifically for our colleagues. Since most firms choose their tax compliance software in June we tasked Chris Frazer (an experienced CPA and a CITP) with reviewing the products available to the profession. Even if you’ve made your purchase decision already I’m sure you’ll find Chris’ review interesting and helpful. It’s obvious that the vendors aren’t done innovating and we have many good things coming --- all meaning time saved and profits increased. You’ll find two articles on what seems to be the hottest topic around: Social Media. Kathy Yakal and Tommy Stephens each wade in trying to reduce the hype and focus on the business and professional aspects of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, et al. QuickBooks expert Amy Vetter shares some really interesting news about the new “Smart Cube” from Intuit & IBM. Last, but certainly not least, you’ll want to check out veteran pundit Rich Oppenheim’s post on text messaging.

Remember, you don’t have to wait for our eNewsletter --- we post articles every day and many of you subscribe via RSS so you see the articles as they’re posted.  It’s great technology and easy to implement. Just go to www.TheProgressiveAccountant.com and click the little orange button titled “RSS Feed”. You’ll find it near the upper-right hand corner of the page.

PS: I managed to snag a Palm Pre on release date and will be posting a review soon. I want to wait 4 or 5 days to give it a fair shake. My initial advice -- don’t buy one until you read my review!
